Ice Diver

Hou je van extreme, ongebruikelijke of uitdagende duikervaringen? Dan moet je een keer onder het ijs duiken! De onderwaterwereld is  fascinerend. IJsduiken is één van de meest avontuurlijke ervaringen die je mee kan maken. Ervaar het spelen met je uitgeademde bellen aan de onderkant van het ijs. Laat voor de grap eens terloops vallen in een gesprek met andere duikers dat je een IDD Ice Diver brevet hebt en je bent direct het middelpunt van het gesprek. Iedereen wil van je weten hoe het is. IJsduiken is geweldig, het breidt je duikmogelijkheden uit. Maar je moet wel rekening houden met de andere omgeving en goed op de hoogte zijn van de veiligheidsmaatregelen die je moet treffen.

What we are going to do

In ice diving cooperation is crucial. The first thing we pay attention to are the roles and responsibilities of the support staff, the carers and the safety divers.

Another important section we'll cover is information on the various types of ice, choosing a dive site, preparation and the effects of cold on equipment. We discuss emergency procedures.

During the guided dives we will discuss:

• The use of safety lines
• Specialized ice diving equipment
• Hand signals and other forms of communication
• Techniques for the use of securing lines
• Dealing with problems and procedures as a safety diver

Voorwaarden

Besides the basic diving equipment you will need a dry suit.

• Minimum age 15 years
• Advanced Open Water Diver
• At least 10 free dives

Brevet 

You will know exactly what to do under the ice and especially how to prepare yourself. You will receive the worldwide recognized IDD Ice Dive certification after successful completion of the course.
